CALENDAR YEAR 2026 U.S. MARINE CORPS RESERVE NON-STATUTORY SELECTION BOARDS AND PANELS
MARADMIN 082/26 · March 3, 2026 · Source
Your 2026 Reserve promotion board dates are out. Here's what you need to know.
HQMC just published the full schedule for CY 2026 Reserve non-statutory selection boards and panels.
These are the boards that determine command slates, senior enlisted assignments, PME school seats, and more.
If your name could go in front of one of these boards, the clock is already running.
Reference: MARADMIN 082/26, signed 3 March 2026. Underlying guidance includes MCBUL 5420 (board schedule and membership requirements) and MCO P1070.12K w/Ch 1, the Marine Corps Individual Records Administration Manual (IRAM).
The old problem
Board schedules like this often appeared piecemeal.
Marines found out about a board when the solicitation MARADMIN dropped, which sometimes left very little runway to clean up a personnel file.
If your OMPF had a missing fitness report, a wrong date, or an outdated photo, you were scrambling.
The new rule (in one line)
All seven CY 2026 Reserve non-statutory boards and panels now have published convening dates, giving you months of lead time to get your record right.
The board schedule
These boards slate or assign to FY 2027 and FY 2028 billets respectively. Dates may shift slightly. A separate solicitation MARADMIN will drop before each one with specific eligibility rules and deadlines.
- FY27 Enlisted Total Force Integrator — convenes 1 Apr 26
- CY26 Reserve Sergeant Major Slate — convenes 20 Apr 26
- FY27 Reserve Command Lieutenant Colonel — convenes 17 Aug 26
- FY27 Reserve Command Colonel — convenes 24 Aug 26
- FY27 Reserve Officer PME — convenes 14 Sep 26
- FY27 Enlisted Reserve Senior Staff Course — convenes 21 Sep 26
- FY27 Reserve Career Counselor of the Year — convenes 18 Nov 26
(Yes, that first board is about a month away.)
What the boards will look at
Every board on this list will review your official photograph as part of the process.
That requirement came from a previous MARADMIN and it applies across all seven boards here.
Beyond the photo, each board reviews your full record. That means your OMPF and your Master Brief Sheet (MBS) need to be accurate and complete before the board convenes. Not the week of. Before.
The fastest way to check both is through the OMPF Record Management Application (O-RMA).
You are personally responsible for what is or is not in your file.
What your record review should cover
✦ Pull your OMPF and MBS through O-RMA now
✦ Check for missing, misfiled, or outdated documents
✦ Verify any additions or deletions made in the past 12 months
✦ Confirm your official photo is current and on file
✦ Use the IRAM (MCO P1070.12K) to confirm what documents belong in your OMPF
If something is wrong, get it to your S-1 immediately. Corrections take time, and boards do not wait.
Why this is a big deal
Non-statutory boards are how Reserve Marines get into command, get PME school seats, and get senior enlisted recognition.
They are not statutory promotion boards, but they shape careers just as much.
Publishing all seven dates at once is a gift. You now know exactly how long you have before each board convenes.
The Marines who use that runway will walk in with clean records and current photos.
The Marines who wait for the solicitation MARADMIN will be fixing their OMPF under pressure.
A smaller note for active-duty Marines
This MARADMIN is explicitly Reserve Component only.
If you have Reserve Marines in your unit or work in a supporting role for SMCR or IMA commands, flag this to them. They may not have seen it yet.
The bottom line
Seven Reserve boards. Dates published. Your record is your responsibility.
Check your OMPF now. Fix problems now. Do not wait for the solicitation MARADMIN to tell you what is missing.
What to do with this
If you are a Staff Sergeant or above (enlisted): Look at the Enlisted Total Force Integrator board (1 Apr), the Sergeant Major Slate (20 Apr), the Senior Staff Course board (21 Sep), and Career Counselor of the Year (18 Nov). Pull your OMPF today.
If you are a Lieutenant Colonel or Colonel: Your command boards convene in August. You have time, but not as much as it looks like. Get your file reviewed now.
If you are an officer being considered for PME: The Reserve Officer PME board convenes 14 Sep 26. Confirm your eligibility with your S-1 and watch for the solicitation MARADMIN.
If you are an S-1 or administrative chief: Start reaching out to potentially eligible Marines in your unit now. Do not wait for them to come to you. The first board is weeks out.
If you are not eligible for any of these boards this year: Still worth pulling your OMPF. Cleaner records do not happen by accident.
This is written by a reservist, for reservists. It is not an official publication of HQMC or MARFORRES. Always verify guidance with your command or unit S-1 before acting on any article or summary.
